Spur Road cave was originally discovered in the 1960s by Mr George Palao. It is a small cave, with an even smaller entrance with two very small passages leading to smaller chambers.
It can be clearly seen when inside the main chamber that at some point a ‘test pit’ has been excavated but we do not have any reports as to who did these excavations and to what was discovered, It could possibly have been carried out by Mr Palao himself.
The site is currently protected and is being monitored by the GOHNS cave & cliff section.
This Cave has a good potential to reveal human remains, but this for the time being is simply theory until the site is studied more closely.
