The Team would like to thank everyone who made this website and project possible.
During the past few years we have met many interesting people from our community and from abroad who have done everything possible to assist us with our project and undoubtedly have made this endeavour possible.
Firstly we would like to thank Professor Clive Finlayson and Dr Geraldine Finlayson from the Gibraltar Museum for entrusting us with this project and guiding us through the inevitable hurdles along the way. Without them we definitely wouldn’t be where we are today. Their work and lifelong dedication to the Caves of Gibraltar is an inspiration to our team and constant encouragement for us to carry on.
We would also like to thank our colleague Speleologists from Spain; Jose & Julio Aguilera for their expertise and hard work in surveying some of our caves. Their work on surveying caves has been a valuable asset to the team.
We would like to thank our friends Francisco Giles, Joaquin Rodriguez Vidal and José Maria Gutiérrez Lopez. Their Archaeological and Geological work in Gibraltar over the past 20 years has been ground-breaking and their advice and support has been invaluable.
Finally we would like to give a special mention for Mr George Palao’s Cave Research Group from the 1960s and 70’s whom we have met at the Gibraltar Museum and whose stories and advice are valuable to our project. A special mention to Mr Tito Serra, Mr Louis Payas, Mr Alfred Brittenden, and Mr Mario Balloqui. We would also like to state that even though we never had the chance to meet Mr Palao himself, the work he and his group did was inspiring and extremely useful to us. They are the original Gibraltarian cave explorers who are passionate about their history and heritage and we are honoured to be in collaboration with them.
